Nathaniel S. Apter, 90, died September 29, 2003, in Peoria, Arizona. Born in Yonkers, New York, he was a World War II Army veteran. He graduated from Cornell University in 1933 and in June 2003, as president of his class, attended the 70th Class Reunion. He practiced psychiatry and neurology at the University of Chicago Medical Center for 46 years. After he retired from medicine he moved to Dania, Florida. There he studied oceanography at Nova University where he became a leading authority in snail research. A member of the Literary Club since 1961, he was its 101st president. He presented nine papers and two book reviews.
