Ralph P. Bassett, Sr., 92, died May 7, 2004, in Evanston, Illinois. He was born July 3, 1911 in Chicago. A graduate of Yale University he also earned a master's in business administration from Boston University. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II. During most of his career he worked in the office equipment industry for A.B. Dick Company. He volunteered as a tutor for children in Chicago and was a member of the Wilmette Park Masonic Lodge 931. A member of the Literary Club since 1997, he wrote one paper.
