Donald James Parker, 74, .died September 9, 2005. Born in 1930, he earned an
undergraduate~ degree in philosophy from Loyola University in Chicago in 1952
and a law degree from Loyola in 1955. After serving in the army as First
Lieutenant at JAG Fifth Army Headquarters in Chicago from 1956-1960, he
practiced law for fifty years. He was a member of the National Board of Trial
Advocacy, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Society of Trial Lawyers of
Illinois, Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar
Association, ISBA Civil Practice and Procedure Section Council, and the
Illinois Supreme Court Ad Hoc Committee for Revision of Supreme Court Rules
concerning Discovery Practice. As a founding member of St. John of the Cross
Parish in Western Springs, Illinois, he served on the Parish Council for many
years and was chairman 'Of the Building Committee for St. John's Church. He was
also a member of the St. John's theatre group, Pizazz,
performing in numerous productions, including the lead role of Henry Higgins in
"My Fair Lady." A member of the Literary Club since 1973, he
presented two book reviews and nine papers.
